We are located on the Gold Coast but we provide wedding videography services from the Sunshine Coast to Byron Bay. We love to travel so if your wedding is anywhere else in Australia or beyond you can count us in!
Our big passion is to create unique wedding videos that, for years to come, will take you back to your wedding day! Everyone says that a wedding day goes by too fast and that’s why having a beautiful wedding video is so important.
Our wedding videos are a reflection of our passion and dedication to the art of making heart felt, emotional films. Our inspiration is not from other wedding videographers but from true cinema. That’s why our films have an organic, filmic look and are able to show deep emotions without being over-the-top and cheesy.
We believe that our role as wedding videographers is to capture all the natural and raw details with extreme attention to detail but doing so while minimally interfering with the authentic moments. We collaborate flawlessly with photographers and let them do their job while we are behind-the-scenes capturing you and your partner as well as your guests having genuine fun.

Who’s behind the lens?
My name is Simao and I am the head wedding videographer and editor of Sunny Day Films. If my name sounds foreign it’s because I am from the small European country of Portugal. I came to Australia at the end of 2011 to pursue a doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering but filmmaking has always been my passion and I can’t believe I was able to turn it into a full-time job. Since my Granddad took me to the movies to see Beethoven, when I was 5, I was fascinated by movies. I was and still get completely absorbed in them. They were so perfect, that I thought they were created by aliens. When I realized they aren’t, I bought my first serious video camera and it all began!
I started Sunny Day Films because my wife Kirsten believed in me and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. She is sometimes being the camera, but most of the time she is helping me behind the scenes with admin, marketing, editing and most importantly providing positive criticism!

What do I offer? 
I offer 3 main video packages but I am always happy to customize a package that better suits your needs. I offer combined discounted Video + Photo packages alongside Daniel Chafer Photography who is a seriously gifted photographer and who shares my easy going, friendly and same standard of professionalism.
