Thistle and Whey cakes celebrate nature, beauty, amazing local produce and the best seasonal flavours I can find. And they celebrate you! Each of my cakes is designed closely with each couple and one of my absolute favourite parts of creating wedding cakes is hearing your story: your favourite foodie moment from the relationship, the memories of your first date or holiday together, or flavours from your childhood that have aways stuck with you, and then weaving those stories into your wedding cake. As well as memories worth celebrating, I am inspired by the seasons, by beautiful locally grown blooms and by the abundance and colours of nature. Part of my mission with Thistle and Whey is to give couples a more eco option when choosing their wedding cake. I do this by working closely with local producers, keeping my flavours seasonal, sticking with South Australian produce for 95% of my ingredients, buying from bulk stores to reduce packaging and only using locally grown, organic blooms to decorate.
